Winter Series gets some real winter weather
The streets of the Kanawha City's 2.4/4.9 mile course went from black to white overnight. Runners woke to a fresh coating snow Sunday morning, which made for slick but fun conditions.

The snow didn't deter a soul as 200 participants toed the start/finish line in sub freezing temperatures.

I asked Mark Rooper if he was worried about the ice and he commented that he would take it slow, but his 29:17 said something different.

Trudy Clark flip flopped places with Susann Venters this time. Clocking the fastest female walker time at 34:42.

At the turn around the leaders were pacing each other. Craig Swisher was able to put a 25 second gap on Winter Series #1 winner, Adam Coon with finish times of 27:19 and 27:44 respectively. Nick Bias was in the mix finishing with a 28.39.

Hamming it up for the Winter Series
Sue Baldwin was the female winner with a 34:31. Connie Young's 38:14 was fast enough for first place in the 50-59 ages group and second place female overall.
