Another day with no sun, overcast skies, and an almost continuous light snowfall. Other than the various evergreen plants you don't find a lot of color out in the woods.

There is a group of bushes I pass on my hike to the Big Sandy Creek that had plentiful red berries early in the winter but they are now rather sparse. Once again Blake Landscapes has come through with an identification for this plant: Ilex verticillata (L.) A. Gray or common winterberry

Without much color to work with I set this picture to black and white. If you saw the color original you'd see that there is actually little difference.

Once again I'm playing with using just black and white. It would be nice if the front of the house was actually facing us as we took this picture.
